Good Morning Happy Thursday.  Not much going on around here..Looked out side and Hubby was carring a shovel asked him what he was doing and he was planting to plants he had recently put into pots… I guess they are growing to fast for him..

Yesterday I worked on my website at www.readerwave.ecrater.com  I was going to wait and put all the things I have to list on a new store front but could not wait to get started so went ahead.. And it was not a bad idea had lots of hit where things were being looked at.. I took pictures yesterday and started listing and some of the LeapPad machines I already had pictures from before so that was easy.. And later if I want to put books in that I have lots of its easy enough as I kept all the pictures in folders by author so I can just go find them .. I will be putting an antique cradle in some time today. Its in great shape If I was keeping it I would take it down to the wood and stain it again… But I am not so Hubby does not have that to do.  Someone at the Flea Market told me about the junk drawer on eBay so I think I will try something like that on my store. I am looking forward to being so busy that I can’t move from this computer till Fridays -Sundays when I have to do things at or for the store at the Flea Market.. As I may have mentioned I am bringing boxes of books home that are under stock as I bring them home I am going to go through and organize… and code the box so I will know when I take them back in November and it will be easy to put them away.  I am going to change some things around and make more room for romance for instance .. I have boxes of authors that are not out and should be. Books that I have gotten in and are not selling much I will move to here. Someone asked me for Chicken Soup and that person has not been back. Another asked me for Large print I have a few now.. Another asked me for Condensed books.. I have some and that person has not been back. I think I am going to the library today and to the discount store(like Goodwill) and check out what they have.  I may even go to the office to get paperwork to volunteer at the book section a few hours one day a week…  I will be going to meet my new doctor today.. I finally found one here in LC who take my insurance.. I am so happy for that. Everyone have a great day and do something nice for someone else

Oprah and Ellen

Oprah and Ellen I bought the O mag after my daughter called and said she was entering the contest for the 12 days of Christmas and we should both do it as we might win a trip to Chicago or Los Angles. That would be so cool.. I could not tell you how many times I have entered something and lost.. But its such a great thing to enter.. There is always a chance.  And when you don’t enter you don’t win.. My daughter thought that we would get to be on Oprah for the holiday show and I was telling her that it said a show now which one.. Just to win a trip together would be great. Our husbands both know how to handle themselves alone.  My son in law has 2 daughters to keep him in line and my husband can go see my Mother in her assisted living home… She’ll keep him straight!  LOL…

I have been working on my books for the flee market I am moving inside this week.. I guess its a good thing as its raining.. I wanted to have someone stand out side the building and hand out my business cards but I guess that is out of the question as its suppose to rain Saturday morning. Friday I go and set up.. That should be fun.. I have been going though my boxes and putting them in order so they are easier to put up. I only have a couple of hours to do this in.  Hope to see you there… Bring a friend

Blog Today

Blogs what are they for… In my case to let off steam, to tell you about my bookstore on line and at the flee market… To talk things over with myself as no one hardly ever reads my blogs so I know I am boring.. That’s OK.. I have bad grammer and spelling… But that’s OK too.. I am the one who reads me… If I am having a problem with my thoughts its good to let them get out.  Like my book store  would love to have a real one..But I can see that it would be a bust in my town. I am barely making it at the flee market how would I do it at a real store 6 days a week… I don’t have the extra cash laying around to take on something like that. I don’t know how to handle the finances… I do it the easiest I can with my online store and flee market.. I only buy what I can afford.. I am always in the black…have one person I ever owe money too…

My dalima(sp) now is weather I should go inside at the flee market or stay outside. Inside I would be able to leave my books there at all times.. It would cost me more but I could have more stock.  I would need to be there every weekend or have someone cover for me. If you read this leave me some feedback.. I would not even know what to pay the person.. My thought was what ever profit was made up to $4o.oo and anything over that is mine. I need an honest person… someone I can trust.. its not like I have a cash register to keep track of inventory…

Rambling about Books

People read so many different kinds of books.. I carry mostly paperback to the flee market.. I have both kinds paperback and hardcover, new and used on my online store.. I have signed and autographed… (for a long time I did not realize there was a difference.. But there is) signed is just the authors name, autographed is when they write it to you personally.. I have quite a few like that.. Some I have kept over the years.. Others I have offered in my store…

Authors, I never realized till I started collecting books for my online store that there are so many. I have seen all the books in stores but never stopped to think about who or why they were written.. I have over 300 authors in my store… And add more all the time… I have slowed down in the past few months… I need to get going again.. I have taken allot of my collection and put it in my flee market store… I can see I need to make a list of authors on that store.. I think I will do that next week… bring my laptop right out to the garage.. and go from box to box.. Not worry about category just get the authors names in ABC order… The reason being I get asked all the time if I have an author and I have to say I don’t know as lots of times I might only have one and don’t remember.. Then I find it after the person has left. That happens to me every week.. Also I have to see the name written down so I can picture the book in my minds eye.. I don’t spell well so I sometimes can’t get a grip on what the person is asking me for.. This does not make for a great book seller.. But if I had a store I would need sales help and you hire them to off set what you don’t know and they do…

I was in retail for over 18 yrs. I was a good sales person and a great manager of other people.. I did not treat them as if they were under me.. I taught them everything I knew and took what they knew and used it also.. People work for you better in the long run if you do not bully them and treat them as equals… Even tho you are their boss.. They mostly don’t forget that and work harder for you… I have worked with so many different people over the years.. And I have stuffed a lot of knowledge under my hat.. I love to read and love books I just don’t know a lot about all kinds of books… I am a creature of habit so I read the same kinds and don’t venture a way much.. I have been told by book sellers I need to read more of the different kinds.. Well I have my family who reads so many different ones that I don’t need to.. I ask questions and they tell me.. I have a daughter who like biographies, another likes historical, I have a daughter in law who likes romantic suspense, and suspense, granddaughters like the witches and vampires, sister in law who likes Christian, her husband likes westerns(they are hard to come by) and I bring up the rear with the romance and suspense.. I like early America like late 1800 on up I like small town America.. Books can take you so many places.. Pick one up and take the ride.. Right now I am reading about a young woman who has taken over the family ranch, got some young steer to raise and bring to market.. she got them a low price.. Not knowing what kind they were and they grew into huge steer that she could not get down out of her mountains to bring to market and has got the help of some great cowboys and that is where I am at now.. have another 100 pages to go… Just a little Harlequin romance… On my table in the living room next to my chair I have four Christmas Harlequin I picked up… I read about the holidays all year long.. makes me feel great when I have a bad week or miss someone…Don’t get the idea I only read Harlequin small romance books.. I read all kinds.. and lots of different authors..  Next to my bed there was a cloth bag that I keep books in.. Now they are on top of the night stand as the bag is being used to go to the flee market so I am on the lookout for another one… I love bags that tell about where I have been… I have given a couple to my Mother so I don’t have as many as I use to have… I suppose I could use a holiday bag. But not as much fun…But pretty…

In Store Coupons

In store coupons … what good are they when the cashier or I don’t look for them… I used to tair them off when I got the food.. One cashier told me I was not suppose to do that… So I stopped… Now I forget if I don’t have it on my mind at the time of check out .. And the cashier is trying to get you out of her line so she does not look… Lloyd’s barbeque has a $2.00 coupon and it get forgot every time… I come home and go to put it away and you here a four letter word starting with s or f….come out my mouth… Then hubby gets in on the act and proceeds to tell me they do that on purpose (Lloyd’s) that is… In my case its something I buy anyway so I am not loosing the money because I was getting it just for that… OK I have had my rant….

This week I am spending my time at the table I am going to set up in the garage and put my flee market books by author and categories as much as I can……..Oh —-  for got to ask for strawberry boxes while at the supermarket…. I guess I need to make a list for tomorrow…

I am reading a Harlequin.. could not tell you title I don’t look sometimes just read the back… You know it will end with the guy getting the girl well this time he get twins too…. just something soft to read when I am not in the mood for heavy….

Well this fluff of a blog is done… catch you tomorrow where I say I did not get started went back to reading after lunch then a movie on TV or Netflex…. Its Sunday after all…

Do You Know

Do you know how hard it is to open email or your blog to find no one had wrote you…. It gets harder and harder every day.  And I know some of its me.. I don’t like getting all those stories and jokes… I want someone to just say hello… I am just as guilty as the next person… I don’t send hardly and of the junk.  But I don’t send many notes either..  I have naglected my blog something terrible lately… I have had nothing worth writing about.. People do not want to hear of your problems.. They want to hear happiness..  I had some happiness yesterday I had two customers for my book store… Thanks to them… And four lookers from three different countries… Thanks to them…

Thanks to my husband for feeling well enough to go out with me yesterday… He is having surgery this month or next.. I hope its this month, so we can get it over with… He is such a good man that he deserves to be in a better place with his health.

I would love to be able to travel even over night and not worry about my mother… She lives with us and is going blind… And she has a new pacemaker.  I would love for her to be able to take care of herself and not worry about her.. but i can’t … So even if  we could we don’t go anywhere… She still does her own laundry.. makes her bed.. takes care of her med’s.. I guess what I fear is her falling.. and no one here to get her up… She does not use the microwave anymore as its hard for her to see.. so she eats cold meals… if we are not here.. That is not good… So we try to be gone only at lunch time…. and make sure she has left overs or sandwich fixings.  The holidays are coming and would love to go to visit children.. but that would be a few days sense some of them are in SF and we are in NF.  She was telling me yesterday that she is feeling very good lately… That’s good… So I am stuck… I want to place her but what do  I tell her… What do I do to make her feel that she is not being places because she is not love… We just want our freedom… Something she gave away most of her life…. I am not her … I do not want to feel I have to because she is my mother… I have done that for 8 yrs… I have given her a good home and then when we moved here she came with us into our home… But she was well enough we could go off and leave her… Now my husband is getting older and I want to chance to do things on the spur of the moment to get up and call over to where Mom is and say we are going today will call when we get home…   Am I being such a terrible person… We might not go much of anywhere… My husband has sent 20 yrs in service and has been so many places..Well I would like to see those places I never have…. Now his health is declining.. and he does not want to go more than a day away… wants to sleep in his own bed…  I think if we could get a mobile home and put a mattress in it like we have at home he would be somewhat happy… I would love to go from camp ground to camp ground across the United States… from here to Alaska… that way we could travel when we wanted and stop when we want… eat what we want … stay as long as we want in some places and not in others…I would love for our friends to go with us.. But its hard going with others as they might want to stop and start as many times as we do… Well anyways this is all a pipe dream… We will never get to do this.  Because of Mother and Husband.. I will go to my daughters this coming year.. I will fly by myself and go for a week or two… Leave the two of them here to take care of themselves…I have to or I will go crazy…

This little blog has taken on a life of its own…. I will be at the flee market this weekend…. come see me  mention getting free Harlequin after a purchase of $4.oo  That’s 6 books….

I am so confused as to what i did right several days ago.. I had lots of people reading my blog and several bought in my store… What do I do to keep this going?  Do I pray to God, do I leave him alone on such a small thing. Do I pester people to read… Do I tell them I wish they would write and answer to my blog… Buy in my stores… www.readerwave.ecrater.com  www.shotglassheaven.ecrater.com

Do I tell them over and over what good buys I have and the items are new and used autographed and not… I have over 120 authors listed and many more to go.  I have over 25 kinds of shot glasses and many more to put in.. I am running out of room to store them on the shelves.. I used to have 5 floor to ceiling shelves in our condo now I have one in our office book store room… and its almost full.

I tell you if you have questions please ask… I don’t ask for feedback when You buy something but I would hope that you give it like I give to you when you buy..

Why?

Why have so many people found my blog and store this week. When no one looked at it in the past weeks.. Why has no one bought a book at the really low prices that I offer… Not even a question has been asked…Why am I up so late or early worrying about it… Why do I like this word Why?Why is a word that never gets answered on my blogs as no one ever stays long enough to make a comment..(excluding the few who have).  Maybe everyone came by to see my redecorating… LOL… I know why I write this blog… 1. my daughter made it for me to see if it would help bring people to my bookstore  http://tinyurl.com/olyuny  2. Books and shots……….

Put in 15 books in my eCRATER store yesterday. Several of the books I had read over the years.. They are good … Geralyn Dawson’s “My Big Old Texas Heartache”  Rachel Gibon’s “Not Another Bad Date”, just to name a couple… Have over 1200 books in my store and growing. Over 125 authors in category section I have over 1000 more books to put in..Going to take a brake this week on putting and more books and concentrate on a bottom of a book of shot glasses to go in my store for them at Shotglassheaven. This box has been eye balling me for a while now.. So around 5am I emptied it onto my desk… (I never say our desk) it belongs to Gene too… He just does not use it as much as I do… Anyways have over 30 shots to take pictures of and enter into store..

I would love to write about interesting things we do.. If we did any…Gene made me scrambled eggs with cheese this morning… I called and left a I love you message on my daughters cellphone… She can’t talk while at work so I leave messages she will see when she take a brake or goes to lunch.. Oh went and got a hair trim when I picked up some more books”Waiting for Agnes”.

Well chop chop back to work… Have a great day…

One of our children is here with her future husband she lives today and another daughter and her family comes for a few days… They leave and meet up with another daughter for fun and sun in SF… No not San Francisco.. Only one of them has ever been there and it was when she was 5 months old… And she is 40 today… Happy Birthday to my baby….Can’t wait till they get here later today… one of our granddaughters is a picky eater so we are picking up her fav… from grocery store later today… Everyone else love its also so that helps…

Hope everyone had a great Fathers Day and or Brithday our daughter in laws birthday was yesterday… Hope you had a great day with your family..

I will be putting books in my eCRATER store all week on and off as I get time away from family… Now I just need a better day than yesterday or the day before…  Have over 1000 product in my store even some new autographed books…

My dream is to someday have a store on the street.. Not just on the Internet.. But my store here has given me lots of practice and I am learning new things every day… Thank you God for all the great things you have given me… Every day is better than the last.   and I need to work on myself.. No more doubting Thomas…. Things will be better one day.. People will find eCRATER and wow it will take off like crazy…  This to shall pass….
