Back and Glad to be Here

Well we are back at the flea market.. I thought we would never be ready to open.. Took us almost a whole day to set up the book cases and put about 10 boxes of books away.. We would of not got that far if we did not get a surprise of help from my sister in law and her husband. … Friday I spent the entire day putting books away… Yesterday was our first day open and it was slow at first  so I just kept putting stock away… I have so much more room  I will take pictures next week when I have more done… I am keeping a sale table up for the children’s and small books. It use to be on a card table  every other week now it will be up all the time… I will have a Christmas table after I get some more stuff put away. Maybe next week. Have been saving out the holiday books as I run across them.. I have a cute wooden bench by my front door its painted red thought it would make a cute book case for the Christmas books… I have a peg board that I will put the ornament on that I have  been collecting all year.  Well I need to get back to bed as I am getting sleepy.. Wow I am so surprised at what I have in my garage.. I have 4 book cases finished they were made in the past two days. They will replace the one big one that we are going to get rid of. Now I have asked hubby to make two more to make these longer as I am extending my store one more space when we come back in November.  This will give me more room to put more out and to take the books off the back book case and put everything together. Then I will have more space to extend the Romance section. Its been kinda lacking this season.. I seem to sell more of certain authors and I have them on special shelves and tables.. But I need to expand with more authors in this section. I have the books and need to get them out. Most of my business is Mystery  and fantasy so I am going to feature them in front and near the front. Going to clean out my car today. Have more books to put away. Went to get a new key for my car and they washed and cleaned it also.. I was very surprised.  Need to run some errands today. Have a great day

Dear Blog

Good Morning dear blog.. I am so sorry I have been missing you every morning.. I have been very busy with my farms(farmville and farmtown, Country life and my Island Paradise.  That and grand children, getting ready for a yard sale this Friday or Next. Receiving and looking for new pieces of furniture.  Oh and my book store and my online book.. Then there is my hubby who is having some minor surgery this coming week..

Today is yard sales (other peoples) we did real well last week. Hoping to do as well this week.. Our online book “Waiting for Agnes” we put it back on Amazon at authors request. Has done well so far. Remember we have it on eBay, amazon, and ecrater. Then if you are local we have it at the Lake City Flee Market on the weekends. Come inside to “The Book Store”

Books, that’s all I think about these days.  I love my little book store.. Its only open two days a week.. I know its not a lot but its mine. I have wanted a book store for many years.  And this is how I can have it.. I have met many people who come and talk to me each week… This is my highlight.. I miss interacting with people.. I had that when I worked out.. I don’t miss working just some of the people.. So now I have that two days a week.. Three if I count Fridays that I go to clean and set up… This week we are going to have lunch with family on Thursday.. We have not done that in a while.  For those of you looking for Fantasy, I found quite a few this week. Have not had any in a very long time.  I am looking for Science Fiction and True Crime… Always looking for Westerns.

Waiting for Agnes has had a good run in the past two weeks… great book.. by Author Joe Bullard.  I am going to start offering it at the flee market this week … Check it out.  It will be $2o.00 we sell for $19.99 on line but then you have shipping fee’s  Its just easier to sell for an even number than carry pennies around… LOL…

They are coming from as far away as Georiga so that is wonderful.. Remember I do trade’s you will have to pay money and a book for a book.. Another Saturday morning getting ready to go to Flee Market to my Used Book Store.. I love it there.. Meet so many interesting people. Sorry to those who came last week and I was not there.. I was so sick during that week with the flu did not want to get out in the cold weather and risk getting sick again.. My Flee neighbor told me many of my people were there even tried going inside.. When the closed sign is there that should tell you I am not there..  When my store is open I am there unless I have to take a quick walk.. in that case someone always knows where I am..  Yesterday I was cleaning, and rearranging some things that needed work.. Still have plenty to do.. Hubby put a better top on one shelf so we are not pushing books off the other side while looking. My biggest problem right now is my romance section.. Several authors I have boxes and boxes of there books and others i have none. Need to get a handle on that… Going to put some stuff for sale other than books from time to time cleaning out my house.  Thanks to all the people who have been bringing me books.. I mostly trade for other books.. I do buy a few outright from time to time.. Right now we are looking for Christian Romance and Westerns… We pay .50 each for them They must be in decent shape and no dropping ..Yellowing is allowed.

New Beginnings…….

Good morning, morning…. We are up listening to Taylor Swift on the CD player…getting ready for the day… First on the list is getting back in the groove of writting a blog… Here Goes…………………………

Books are my hobby and love but I can see this year I need to find a way to make them better than they ever were… I got a new car and it needs to be paid for.. Mother has been moved to assisted living so she does not help with our income anymore..

Books and shotglass stores are what I have on eCRATER at www.readerwave.ecrater.com and www.shotglassheaven.ecrater.com   My husband is going to put another shot glass shelf up for me… Thats 18 rows to put another box out… that will take a while for me to put them out… Taking pictures and listing…      I hope to have them done before Thanksgiving if not then before December… I need to learn how to take better pictures… They are ok but not wonderful…    Need to put more books in and get it out there that I have books for you to read… I will have more talking books also..  Some of the great books you have all read in the past.. Now you can take them in the car or like Mother listen to at home.

I have Waiting for Agnes by Florida Native Joe Bullard… Has been a great seller.. I offer it on eBay and eCRATER… will ship to lots of places check it out…. We have the complete series or Cedar Cove  all 11 books… some are new, some are used, some are soft cover, some are hard.  Have several authors by series… If you are looking for something special let me know … I have over 2000 other books…

New Idea

My head is so full of idea’s for making my Flee Market experience easier… I have a bad back and the boxes of books that I take are heavy after a while and strain my back.. We did come up with loading van put three boxes on top of each other and use a hoe to push them back and make three rows of three which is good except the carpet gets in the way sometimes..(can’t remove as we need it there when we have the seats down in place)  I have several boxes that are odd shapes I am going to work on getting them all the same sizes…Also I am going to work on getting the authors together. Have been doing that a little each week…

Books I need to find are christian books and westerns… both are hard to find. I have people all the time asking me for them.. I have some christian but need something different for the same customers I always have…

The next thing I am looking into is making another idea to put more boxes in the same spaces … I think I have come up with an idea take and put one box on table and another slanted  upright behind it.. I want to try one first before I go through this whole process. I am not sure the table are wide enough to support that style…  Then if this works I will hire one of the kids out there to help me set up and take down. And pray I make some money at it… I have not done so bad so far…

I charge $1.00 a book or $.50 and a trade in…. I need to make a better sign for this also…. I am using poster board and its getting beat up with the weather…. (early morning damp)….

Also if I can do ok at this my husband says I can get a car or truck for myself… I can leave my boxes in this and not have to take them in and out of the garage that takes away two strains on my back.. I would love to get one of those mail trucks…Its not to far back like my van and it is heavy enough to hold the weight.  Could use it to go yard sailing (I know wrong word but you get the idea) in also…  Keep your eyes open for me….

Salesman, Saleslady………

How many times can we have no sales before we throw in the towel, so to speak…………I guess all the people who like to read are going to the library… That’s great for the library workers but what about the salesman and saleslady who have been so good to you for years…They are going to loose there jobs.. Remember what Whoopi said on “The View ” at the beginning of this mess… Those of you who still have need to spend a little to keep those of us in business…. Don’t be afraid and take a chance… This Saturday Readerwave will be at the Lake City Flee Market come out and look for your favo book… Write us a email and tell us what you are looking for… readerwave@bellsouth.net  write a comment… here…..We will have a few copy’s of Waiting for Agnes by local Author Joe Bullard. They will be on Sale for $19.00… We will not advertise.. come up and ask us… They will be autographed…

Business was getting better then it just died…. We have two stores on eCRATER  nice place.. and people who have bought from us there have had a great experience… remember all the discounts…. I don’t think you can get better prices unless someone is giving books away… Sorry I can’t do that… Going yard sailing tomorrow have not gone in a very long time… Will write when I get home to tell you how I did…. I bought a new chair for the flee market so come out and help me pay for it….Then go to the doing down town to celebrate Lake City’s 150 years…
