I should be writing about books.. I should be writing about how my book store is doing and how wonderful it all is… I should be… I can’t, because its not… I have not had a sale in weeks .. Most of it is my fault.  I have not put in any extra work into it… I can write how I have gone to yard sales and how I have bought books from customers that I have met sense living here in Lake City.. I can write that I have not written anything interesting in my blog for weeks.. I can write how no one is reading my blog.. I can write about how its hard for me to think of things to write about. I can write how I wish I could figure out how to fix all this… I can write how I wish I had a real bookstore in the real world.. I could write about how I don’t know the first thing about keeping money flowing in my book account.. I could write about all the big idea’s I have for a store.. I could write about not having the finances to have a store and with out that I can’t have one.. I will not borrow money from any thing or anyone.. I could write about all the great idea’s I have for running this store..  I could write about how I don’t read enough different kinds of authors so that I can help my customers.. I could write about how I wish I had the money, knowledge and the place to open this store… I could write about the wonderful husband who backs me in every fool thing I do… He is very surprised I have gotten as far as I have with this on line store…I could write how the past two years have been really fun with my store. I could write about all the work and fun I have had… I could write about all the books I have given to my local library, hospital, CARC, etc… I could write about how I believe in giving back. I could write about how I am thinking about donating books to my Mothers new home at the assisted living . I could write about how new we are there I don’t know what they have in a library. I could write how I entend to find out soon… I could write about how I am getting tired of writing I could write… LOL..  I could write about how we are having company this weekend and I will be off the computer for a few days… I could write how you can find great books new, used, autographed, and signed at www.readerwave.ecrater.com   I could write that this is the end of today’s blog…

My Favorite Author, Who’s Yours?

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

After reading her blog I decided to tell you a little about my favorite author, Debbie Macomber. I have met her three times.. Each time was better than the last. First time was eight years ago. In her hometown of Port Orchard,WA Now I live in Florida, quite a distance to go for just a signing you say..Well I had 4 other great reasons to go.. My daughter and three of my grandchildren lived in Bellview at the time..  We rode the ferry over and took a tour of the town what a wonderful time we had. If I ever get to go again I am going to look for the house on one of her Cedar Cove books as its Debbie’s house.

I have read all her books so far. I started out on the first Cedar Cove book and when from there. I have many of her books in my used book store www.readerwave.ecrater.com  and she was kind enough to send me bookmarks to put with my books when I ship them out.

I want to tell you about some of her books.

16 Lighthouse Road  1st book in her Cedar Cove Series and hardest to find  When Ceilia Randall   naval officer husband Ian, appear in Judge Olivia Lockhart’s Cedar Cove family court, they expect the good judge to grant the divorce they seek.  But Olivia senses the couple still love one another and just need time to work on their marriage in the wake of their infant daughter’s death.  So Olivia denies their petition and makes headlines in the Cedar Cove Chronicle earning the divorced mother more than journalistic admiration form the paper’s editor, Jack Griffin.  Meanwhile, Olivia’s daughter Justine, must decide if she will marry an older man her mother insists is wrong for her, and Olivia’s best friend, Grace Sherman, the local libraian,is frantic with the disappearance of her husband Dan.  Everyone in Cedar Cove is talking.

204 Rosewood Lane 2ndbook  Six months after her husband of 35 years,Dan disappeared, Grace Sherman is confident he’s run off with another woman so, against her daughter,Kelly’s wishes she files for divorce.  Meanwhile, Judge Olivia has love problems of her own.  Her ex-husband wants her back, giving her on-again, off-again suitor, Jack Griffin, some stiff competition.  Jack has other problems.  His son Eric, comes home to bunk with dad, on the outs, with his girlfriend, Shelly, who thinks she’s pregnant Olivia’s daughter, Justine, wises up and marries her high school sweetheart, but Zach and Rosie Cox find their marriage on the  skids.  Rosie’s volunteer work takes precedence over her family responsibilties.  Maryellen Sherman, Grace’s oldest daughter and manager of the local art gallery, becomes pregnant after a brief affair with artist Jon Bowman.  Romance, babies divorce and marriage keep Cedar Cove gossips buzzing.

311 Pelican Court  3rd  book  Now divorced, Zach and Rose Cox are struggling to adjust to Judge Olivia’s unusual custody agreement-and to the fact they’re thrown together more than they would have wished.  The kids are staying in the family home, and its’s Rosie and Zach who have to do the coming andgoing.  Having discovered the tragic fate of her husband, Grace tries to adjust to single living and to the attentions of another man.

But the really big gossip comes when a guest dies at Bob and Peggy Beldon’s Thyme and Tide Bed and Breakfast, Roy McAfee, the local private investigator, wants to know who the guy was, and why he showed up there,of all places, in the middle of the night.

44 Cranberry Point 4th book Judge Olivia andher husband Jack, are back form their homemoon to find her mother,Charlette who’s at least seventy-five, has a man in her life.  But the big buzz is about the man who died in the Beldon’s bed and breakfast.  Turns out, his name ws Max Russell, and Bob knew him briefly in Vietnam.  But who poisoned him and why?

In happier news, Jon Bowman and Mary ellen Sherman have seen the light-they’re getting married.  Maryellen’s mom, Grace, has more than her share of interested men, but which one will she choose?  All grist for the gossip mill in Cedar Cove, the town you’d love to call home.

50 Harbor Drive 5th book Roy McAfee, Cedar Cove’s resident priate investigator, and his wife, Corrie, have been receiving annonymous postcards and messages, asking if they regret the past, and what they mean is a mystery to them!  On a more positive note, Roy and Corrie are delighted that their daughter, Linette has moved back to Cedar Cove to work at the new medical clinic.  Linette isn’t too enthusiastic  her mom has set her up with Cal Washburn, who works at Cliff Harding’s horse farm.  Corrie bought Linette a date with Cal at the humane society’s “Dog and Bachelor Aution” The romance between Cliff and Grace Sherman is back but that’s just one of the many interesting stories you’ll read about in 50 Habor Street

6 Rainier Drive  6th book   After losing The Lighthouse restaurant to arson, Justine and Seth Gunderson’s marriage is rocky.  The prime suspect, Anson Butler, is a young ex-employee who disappeared right after the fire.  But when a cross necklce shows up in the ashes of the restaurant authorities wonder if someone else set the fire.  Seth assumes they will rebuild, but Justine likes not having to worry about the restaurant.  It’s as if they don’t know each other anymore.  But could something unexpected rekindle their love, say in nine months?  Still, there’s good news in Cedar Cove.  Cal, who works on Cliff  Harding’s ranch, is rescuing wild mustangs from Wyoming but might find he’s better suited for other adventures.  And a Victorian Tea Room and Gift Shop could be in the works.  In the meantime life goes on, with marriages, births, reunions…and even the occasional scandal.

74 Seaside Ave  7th book   I’m living a life I could’t even have dreamed of a few years ago.  I’m married to Bobby Polgar now(you know the famous chess champion who just happens to be the man I love!)  And we’ve got this beauiful house with a view of Puget Sound.

Lately something’s been worrying Bobby, though.  When I asked, he said he was protecting his queen”- and I got the oddest feeling he wasn’t talking about chess but about me.  He wouldn’t say anything else.

Do you remember Get Nailed, the beauty salon in Cedar Cove”  I still work there.  I’ll tell you about my friend Rachel who’s got two men interested in her (count’em, two).  And I’ll let you in on what I’ve heard about Linnette McAfee who left town when her love life fell apart(That kind of trouble I know all about)  Come in soon for a manicure and a chat okay?

8 Sandpiper Way 8th book  Emily Flemming can think of only two explanations-an affair or sticky fingers_ but neither sounds like the husband she knows and loves.  Still, Pastor Dave did regularly visit the elderly woman whose jewlry has been turning up missing, and he does refuse to tell Emily where he’s been when he comes home so late.  He may be a good man, but  he sure looks guilty-even to his wife

Meanwhile Sheriff Troy Davis’s long-ago love has moved to town, and there’s news aplenty from newcomers and old-timers alike in Cedar Cove

On Sale August 2009

92 Pacific Boulevard  I’m not much of a letter wirtier.. As the sheriff here, I’m used to writing incident reports, not catty letters.  But my duaghter, Megan0 who’ll be making me a grandfather soon-told me I had to do this.. So here goes.

I’ll tell you straight out that I’d hoped to marry Faith Beckwith(my onetime high school girlfriend) but she ended the relationship last month, even though we’ve both widowed and available.  There were a few misunderstandings between us, some of them inaffvertently caused by Megan.

However, I’ve got plenty to keep me occupied, like the unidentified remains found in a cave outside town.  And the fact that my friend Judge Olivia Griffin is fighting cancer.  And the break-in at 204 Rosewood Lane-the house Faith happens to be renting from Grace Harding… If you want to hear more, come on over to my place or to the sheriff’s office-if you can stand the stale coffee.

Book 10  comes out September 2010 God willing…..

Two other books in series and around the series

5-B Poppy Lane Novella in Hearts Divided Anthology

Grandmothers know best-especially these three grandmothers, all soldier’ briders

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Have not done allot with mine… I may not for awhile… I have music on it… I have been told I can put books on it… I feel like I am cheating allotof people out of a good read when I get done.  And my used book store would suffer.. Of course I don’t know how it could be any worse than it is now… I am the only one writing and reading. This is why I have never become a writer my stories and grammar are only good enough for me to read.  I had a grandma who would correct my grammar when I would write her letters and send them back to me… I never looked at them I was so upset that she would do it… My other grandma would take cards some one has sent to her and cross out words and put her own in.. I thought this was wonderful that she would take the time to do that…. I found out when I lived with this grandma that she could draw… I never knew that.. she was really good… She would not draw much as her family made fun of her… Well I guess you know who I take after… I have thought up some good stories… I have pretended to be someone else all my life… Well I don’t have to pretend thanks to my wonderful family I have a wonderful life now. My children my husband and the children he has brought to this marriage has made my life what I have always dreamed of… May everyone know such happiness.. Of course there are days I want something everyone does.. I would love travel, visit family and friends, see places I have never been.. Due to allot of reasons this will never happen.. I don’t go further than 1hr away from my house anyone time… Did you know there are allot of things with in one hr of someones house… If I could get it up to 2 1/2 I could really have a great time.. see Mickey or grandchildren, nieces and nephew.  Can’t wait till winter comes so we can go back to Fridays and see our family that we always have lunch with.. Some are doing other things over summer… Have a good one .. My dear friend who has been my friend for over 45 yrs… and I send a friendship ball back and forth to each other every month.. this is a silver ball that opens and you put something inside and give it to someone in friendship.. My sister in law has loved the idea ever sense she heard about… This past year I found a second ball and started sending it to her over the summer… She and I both have got the first send and now its on its way back to her I hope she like what I sent …. If anyone has rambled its surely me today…. What a day for someone to read this… I am listening to Cher on my iPod, I have Reba, George Strait, Garth Brooks and Michael Buble I might get some early tunes of MJ  but not sure…  If you read this please send someone else to read my mess… LOL…. Have a great day…. I am off to put some wonderful writers into my bookstore for someone to see and just have to you are    Thankgoodness for spell check…
