Happy New Year

I wrote a blog a while ago and saved it came back and it’s not there. Sounds like me… LOL. I am trying to start a new trend in 2012. Start things and finish.. I want to start-up my bookstore and shot glass store on-line again. Have not decided if I will do eBay or eCrater. or Both.  Someone gives me some input . What is your favorite.

I have used books that are extra’s in my Flea Market store here in LC,Fl . I have shot glasses that I used to collect. I have over 900 and a new iPhone that takes wonderful pictures so will try to get that started real soon. Postcards have about 1200 that were my Mothers I keep finding them everywhere I look. Would be nice to find people who want big quantities.

Can’t wait.. If I could afford it I would send for the other two girls so these two girls have bud’s. Oh well maybe next year. Then three of them will be out of school (graduated).

I know its real hot here and no one feels like going to the Flea Market. But remember with out your business year round we can’t stay open. We are looking at real slim picking here. Granted I don’t have to have this money to live on its my fun time.. But to stay open we have to be in the black.

I am going to make you an offer.. You email me your list of books. I will email you back with what I have and you can pick up here in LC or will mail for handling and postage. How This would work you email me your list I look for them on Saturday have them ready for you to pick up on Saturday or Sunday at FM or during the week evenings at my home.Between 6pm and 7:30. I will email you back what I have you let me know when you email me if its local if its a trade or straight sell with straight sell its 1.00 each or 6 for 5.00 trade is one of your books (good condition) and .50 for one of mine.  Mailing is 1.00 each or 6 for 5.00  plus 2.00 handling for the first 6 books and .50 cent for each one after and your media mail.   I am looking for Fantasy books and plastic shopping bags.  I have just acquired a selection of John McDonald books.. I know they are older than I would normally  have … I am bringing my LeapPad selection back for the holidays.. machines and books.. New this week we will have a special bookcase for magazines. They have been 50 cent we are going down to 25 cents.  We have a large section come check us out.

We did a little of both today.. I put books away. Hubby put signs up on every book case for me so everything has a name that is in a book case… I hope this make it much easier for everyone who is looking around our store. We brought the mags back.  Have lots of westerns.. We are looking for fantasy at this time…

I am doing more sitting than moving as the swelling is getting worse and worse… Yesterday I sat at this computer and made signs for my book store.. I am so proud of it wish you all could see it. I am going to take pictures this weekend.  Business has been very good.. I only need Fantasy books and lots of plastic bags… I have some LeapPad products I am taking of line and taking to the store for the holidays… I have bags of K-Nex’s range in price from $3.00 to $5.00

Today I got some holiday items together that I have been collecting over the summer to put in a little section of my store at The Lake City Flea Market. hours are 6:30 to 3:00   I get there between 6:30 and 7:00  I am bigger than I was a month ago and I have lots of new book cases come see for yourself. My children’s and Harliquin  are out all the time on sale… Then I have a better group of children’s also.  Several groups have moved Mystery is now in the front of the bookcase and Historical is in back. I am moving hardcover novels by your favorite authors to a table in the back..That will leave more room on front two tables for all the other kinds.. Sold a very nice coffee table book this past weekend.. Come check us out we are on Brandford Hwy between 90 and Bascon Norris, Lake City,Florida which is off of I-75

Spent last night and this morning looking over mags and cook books trying to figure what I want to take for Thanksgiving… I think I found two things … Sweet Potato Casserole and Cherry Dump… one from this months Just You mag. and one is from Hubby’s cousin in Ga. I found a great Mashed Potato Casserole but it has to be baked just be fore using and we drive and hour… so do not want to have use their oven when I get there…sweet potato is just to be warmed up… someone sent me a pumpkin muffin  that I need to try also… one of these days… maybe will make before I go visit kids…no promises

I thought we would never be ready to open.. Took us almost a whole day to set up the book cases and put about 10 boxes of books away.. We would of not got that far if we did not get a surprise of help from my sister in law and her husband. … Friday I spent the entire day putting books away… Yesterday was our first day open and it was slow at first  so I just kept putting stock away… I have so much more room  I will take pictures next week when I have more done… I am keeping a sale table up for the children’s and small books. It use to be on a card table  every other week now it will be up all the time… I will have a Christmas table after I get some more stuff put away. Maybe next week. Have been saving out the holiday books as I run across them.. I have a cute wooden bench by my front door its painted red thought it would make a cute book case for the Christmas books… I have a peg board that I will put the ornament on that I have  been collecting all year.  Well I need to get back to bed as I am getting sleepy.. Come see us and bring your plastic bags and your books…. see you soon.

Getting ready for the first load of book cases.  Might take us three trips to get them over there.  then its about 9 trips of books… My car is already loaded so when book cases and tables are in place we can start putting the books away.. I hope to start that after lunch tomorrow.  Friday is my husbands birthday and he will be busy helping me.. Its so nice of him to put up with doing this with me.. I am very lucky.

Another thought I have canceled Amazon again… Book has not sold in two months.  I am getting ready to stop selling Waiting for Agnes.  Next week will be the last week to be listed at www.ebay.com and www.readerwave.ecrater.com I only have a few left. Make great Holiday gifts they are signed by author.

Plus I bought a lot while doing yard sales this past month.   I have the design in my head but getting it to work I hope is the same.  I have some sign idea’s that may or may not work…  Going to put my fan’s in place and cover them.. I had hoped that my granddaughter the artist could draw me some tree’s to put over them. But we could not find the paper.  Some idea’s just don’t get done.. I have one with my sewing machine started.. I had to change the pattern several times as I am making it and do not have one already made… Some prices will change but not much.. I have to compensate for the extra room I have added… The sale on children’s books and  Harliquin etc will be every week unless I run out. I have new bookcases in the middle and they have more shelves so will have more room for books… the theme’s are going to flip flop.. Putting the mystery etc in front and the historical romance in the back.. I got a lot more authors that I did not have tried to work off my list but was hard to find.  Went to the flea market in GA a few miles up the road.. The books there are $2.oo and up. I know that I have been selling my rubber band sets to cheap… This will change later in the month. I am not going to look for set for awhile till I get things squared away.  As you might know one of the days that we move back is my hubbys birthday.. I am sorry you have to work with me on this then… What a birthday celebration.  Happy Birthday Honey.

We went to the fair yesterday was interesting… We had not gone  so decided to do it so we could say we had.  I wanted a gyro and we went to the place and they did not have any.. Man was I upset.. the one thing I went for… we saw all the booths… and talked to some friends from the flea market.  Then we came home and had a wonderful roast and mashed potatoes and peas… Was great as always thanks honey.

We have changing of the leaves but nothing like my kids or sister get where they are. Saw pictures of Central Park down town New York City yesterday while watching The Early Show. But when they get the colder weather and all the snow I am glad to be here in North Florida where I am cold in two layers but don’t have to put on three or four … I can remember getting wrapped up to go sleding.. I could not move and had so much trouble with the sled, skates etc….

I started playing with making patterns to sew yesterday.. I think I made three sizes before I was happy… Now today I might get busy with cutting out.  Should be quite a feet if I can pull this off.. Been working on some of my books in garage with pricing them in preparation to go back to book store… I am keeping paperbacks at $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00, hard covers will be more,priced as marked.( Hard covers will also be 6 for must be the same or lesser value of what you have bought)  I will have children’s book sale and regular price so pricing those ran into a very nice selection . Children’s and Harlequin will be on sale tables every week now. I will have more room…. I will still take trade ins.. a book and .50 for a book.  Hard Cover books will be able to trade for another hard cover  and half of the price of the book.  So if you bring in a hard cover book and want a  hard cover book it will cost you 1 hard cover  and 1/2 the price of the book you want.  (example   $3.00 book will cost you one hard cover and $1.50
