New Day New Sight On Facebook

Good Morning,

Hello to everyone who loves a good book. Found another author I am going to try Don McQuinn. Found him on author Kaki Warner’s blog this week. I loved what he had to say so I went and got his book that was mentioned. One of my fave authors is in Paris this week with her husband how great is that. Glad your next book is at the publishers so you can have a great time Mrs. Debbie Macomber. I am waiting for the next Robyn Carr book just like everyone else. Love her Virgin River series.  Right now I am reading Seal of our Dreams  great book with lots of little stories all about Navy Seals There are many authors.

This week I started up a page on Facebook for my store. The Bookstore I hope you will pop in and like me. I need twenty-five people to like it this week.. Help me out please.

The Bookstore is now open Friday – Sunday come out and see us at the Lake City Flea Market we are inside the green building just past Kennedy’s food truck.

We are expecting rain this weekend but remember we are inside at the Flea Market.. So you can come in and look around. There are tools, leather goods, dolls, dollar store, furniture,music,jewelry etc.  Come check us out. What ever you do have a good safe weekend.

A Day in April and No Showers

Friday 13, was an ok day. Nothing special we were open at the Flea Market.. I guess none of my friends got the word as none of them were there.  Had three all day. Ouch. Hope tomorrow and Sunday are better.

Been selling some new books. Looking for a company to order books from don’t like the one I found any of you have idea’s? Have several customers looking for copys of the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew. I had a chance at copys a while back and I had no room for older books now that I do I have not found any.  Had someone come in and offer donations of books. Always open for them.  The weather has been wonderful for being there. I can wear shorts .Love it.

Will be training Carol to work the two weeks I am on vacation.  I will be closed the last day of school here as Carol is a school teacher and has to work that day. But she will be there the rest of the weekend and the next. Of course I am jumping a head this is in June. We still have to finish April and May.

Our flowers are blooming and looking great. Peach tree’s have one bloom.

Well have a great weekend I will try to write more often.

What’s in a Title

Welcome to the Jungle know as my life. So much has been happening with our little family here in Lake City,Florida.  All the doctor visits are over, well there is one left… Hubby goes in next week to have some more of his nose scraped.. I told him they should take it off as there will be nothing left soon. He did not laugh.  Gee I don’t know why… All my doctor visits are over for now.. No knee surgery till I lose weight.. I am doing pretty good.. Its been three weeks.. Have been riding bikes with Hubby. He has been a great sport and eating chicken a couple of nights a week and fish. Then I let him take me out for steak one night.  I got the weights out this morning and did about 5 mins will do another this afternoon and work my way up..

Have Hubby working on shelves to go over my tables in the front. Got the idea from the tool guy across from me.. Something to put the little books from the odds section. Will make it less messy and will let the books show better instead of in between the other books on the table..

Went yard sales this morning and went some other places this week Did quite well. I am reading a new author to me.. Kaki Warner she writes early American West. They are great this is my 5th one. There is another coming out this year to go with the last two. Can’t wait. I have turned several customers on to her…

Well looks like I won’t be having a BB MA(dog) any time soon.. When I heard the price of one new-born I almost fell on the floor..Guess I should just get a dog from the pound.

What a Difference a Day Makes

Good Morning,

Today I go to the Flea Market and open my Book Store. I have a lot of projects to do today.  I hope my Knee can take it.  I am up and down in the chairs or stool as I can’t stand long with it.. I found out yesterday I will need knee replacement soon.  I guess this is the reason I have been awake on and off all night.

Well getting my dog anytime soon is out of the question a puppy for sure is out.  I would not have to take it out side to walk all the time and have it maybe pull me off my feet.  I would love a dog to walk tho.

Today one of my daughters is walking a marathon at Disney. I am so proud of her. She has lost a lot of weight in the last few months.  She has a great support system in her teenage daughters. One of them got her walking.  I need them up here…

Where Are You

Let me tell you it was cold today sitting at the Flea Market waiting for my regular customers and hoping for some new ones.  You did not come. I missed you. For those of you who are reading this please leave a comment. I was cold and it was lonely with only a few customers. Now I have to wait another week and hope you come out and play.

If you bring the print out of  this Blog with you I will grant you a free book of your choice after you spend $7.00, thats any book .

Bur..its was chilly out and in.. Have a great week. Remember you can bring in trades.. Must be in good condition no torn off covers no missing pages no rodent mess. No books older than 1995. No small Harliquins. We trade one of your books and $.50 for one of our books.. If you bring more than you want to trade we keep a list of how many books you have to trade and you can use it each week.

Bad Blog in Pain

What a day. Made several doctor office calls.. I had hoped when I started this process a month ago that it would be done by now and I would be ready for when the need came up.. Oh well I was wrong.  Yesterday my leg and knee started hurting and nothing seems to help it stop. I need shots.. and I have to wait two weeks to see the new doctor and then may have to have test before the real action takes place.. I hate looking for new doctors.

Weekend was good. Sunday was slow but I got a lot of work done.. I am reading a Emily March right now her newest. I like it but I am in so much pain that I keep putting it down, and getting up to walk out the stiffness.

Tomorrow is my Birthday daughter and family came up this weekend and we went to a Japanese restaurant in Gainesville Can’t member the name started with a M and it was on the same turn off I-75 as Target and across the street is Burger King with a street beside it and the restaurant is on that street.

Authors and Dogs

This has been some week.  I have been helping my husband find my Birthday present. No luck so far. Its a week from today. I went and sat with him on the back porch and told him not to worry I would not get upset if we did not find what I want.  We are looking for a cocker spaniel dog, fem, black,brown and white.  I would love to find one at a shelter but there are none in the area or even east coast of Florida.. Even looked in lower Georgia.  This is what I want and I am willing to wait. Have not seen anything else that I like.  I even named her B B MA after my fav author Debbie Macomber. www.debbiemacomber.com

This week I am reading new authors to me that were suggested by other authors I follow on facebook. I am known as me on facebook  Dona Hopkins West in case you want to follow. I finished KAKI  WARNER’S PIECES OF SKY waiting for the next book to come in the mail OPEN COUNTRY. Yesterday I got a email from Kaki Warner saying I have won a contest and I will be getting a signed book in the mail real soon.. How cool is that. She lives in Washington State as does my fav author Debbie Macomber  you can look her up at www.kakiwarner.com  you can follower her on facebook also. Now I am reading another new author to me SARA LUCK  readingSUSANNA’S CHOICE  both authors write about the early west.  No indians but lots of wagon trains, gold rushes and romance.

I started selling on eBay last week selling shot glasses and postcards. Did not do very well so I think today will be my last day. I can’t see not making my money back and going to all the work for not.

Hope to see you all this weekend at the Lake City Flea Market. Some of the kids and grandkids are coming up this weekend can’t wait and in a week or two some more.

Happy Birthday Dad we miss you so much. Think of you and Mother often.

Hubby just came in with the mail my book I ordered OPEN COUNTRY BY KAKI WARNER just came. I got a birthday card from my far away daughter and a doctor reminder.. I made it on my Birthday so I can have lunch in Gainsville. So the day is shaping up.

Racking My Brain Need Help

Racking my brain does not help. I am trying to find ways to make my selling on eBay work. I can use all the help I can get. I am trying to sell shot glasses on line. I had tried selling one at a time. That did not work. Last week I put on in groups. Put 11 groups and sold two for less than they were worth. I have over 900 to sell I am wondering if I should just put out a mystery box out there and aution it off as how many are in the box of different kinds.  I need to make some room in my house.

I gave up my farm on zynga. I have not given up on facebook as this is how I keep up with family that is far away and some that are closer I just don’t see as often.

Have been practicing a little of the Merical on 34th street  sent customers to my compation this weekend if I did not have the books they wanted .. It worked pretty well so far she is sending them to me also.

Only 9 days left for hubby or someone to find my B B MA  gave him till my birthday. I know this is not going to work… But I can rib him about it. I would love to have a Cocker Spaniel Black,White and Brown

eBay SHOTS

Thursday been busy finishing up a book. Which is dumb now I have to start a different one as I one I want to start I ordered yesterday so it will be Monday before I get it..

I have been putting my Shot Glasses on eBay this week and mailed a set out yesterday. I have been doing them in lots … Trying to clean my room out a little.  I have PostCards  on there also.

Got a bill from Florida for taxes.. I almost died… as I had already paid it.. So went to my local office here in town and found out it was a mistake.. I am so glad..

We have been internet shopping this week for a dog.. We want to see what is around before we go traveling very far.. I want a young black, white and tan cocker spaniel.  I have a name but they come with names already.. So I am going to name my stuffed dog B B MA . I love that name. I want this dog as a birthday present but looks like it might not happen. My husband has been looking real hard. There are 12 days left so someone better help him… LOL

I went book shopping this week at our local library. Found some that I needed for my store. I also got a book list for author Barbara Delinsky and marked all the books off that I have in my store have a customer who just started reading her. I just started reading Kaki Warner and Sara Luck.
