Whats a day dream,Whats real

Sunday, October 18th, 2009

Books..I spent the better part of three days getting all my boxes in order, all the same authors together.. Worked out good for the first day.. Now that I have sold some and have some more books to put in with all kinds of different authors its going to be hard to do..

We have been talking about getting a auto or truck  that I can drive to flee market. Leave my books in all week ust take them out when I get there and before I go back home. Then my day dreaming took hold and I want a big truck that I can park somewhere and have my books inside for people to come look at.. and buy of course.. A place where I can work all week with two days off… Like normal people… Where I have to find someone to work so I can take extra time off… This is my day dreaming… its fun and safe as its not real oh it could be but for me its not…. at this time…

Real is my online book store www.readerwave.com

Feelings

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

Everyone has them.. Weather they are good  or bad.. Broken or not. We need to think before we speak or take action.. I am very guilty of this.. But I am not the only one.. This blog has come about from a conversation today.. Feelings go very deep with some people and they look like nothing bothers them… Then all of a sudden they show up in the oddest places…Then there are others that show there feelings right away… (sometimes I feel this is the least stressful..)But when you hurt someone who does not show it… (And most of the time you don’t even know that you have done something wrong)..

My actions in the next feel weeks will explain where this blog comes from… Its not my place to right this wrong and I don’t know how to with out making more hurt feelings.. Feelings are a tricky think…

You can have a good feeling for someone , with someone, about someone.. Hurt feelings are the same… I for instance feel good if I get a call, even tho I hate the phone.. I hate to make calls.. (feel like I bother people at the wrong time..) I think this is one of the reasons I get along with my oldest granddaughter she will make no bones about telling you she is busy… and she does not mince words… This can hurt your feelings if you don’t understand her… Then again she in bluntly honest and you know that she is not telling you a story to get rid of you… LOL… Emails can be read and answered when you want to… sometimes never.. I have a friend that if you want to send her a email it better not be something to be answered in the next week… She just does not take the time to get on computer that she shares… Facebook.. we share this with family and close friends… we have to watch how we say things as some feelings can get rubbed the wrong way… And language is a feeling thing also… Twitter… feeling get in my way on that thing… I @ someone and lots of people don’t answer them…

So you see feelings are a big thing and can go on and on and you just don’t know what is going on next…

When I don’t have a sale on my book store I take my feeling out and tell everyone… Then its over and sometimes the next day I have a sale… Maybe its because I talk to God.. I don’t get down on my knee’s but we talk on a regular basic…. I don’t listen most of the time… and I guess I hurt feelings and don’t realize.. Till he hits me over the head with something… Then I go  Oh ya…

Feeling can go on and on and this is what I am doing going on and on….

Feelings are a big thing and can be crushed or come out smelling like a rose…. So next time you act or speak think before you do… Remember some one is on the other end…

Book Lady Rambles On.

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

Today we are going to a Library sale.. We went last year and got lots of books… I am hoping to get the authors that my readers are looking for… We went yesterday to doctors appointment and then to the used book store.. I was able to get quite a few different kinds.. Even got some westerns…

I now have so many books to take that I need to get a second table.. That will make me 5 and I can put out 30 boxes of books…  I even have some new or almost new that I am going to take just have to find a way to mark them as they will cost more as I payed more for them.. I might take the idea from a friend who had a book store here local and mark the cover … I have a couple of weeks to think on this…

I can’t wait to go back to the flee market .. I have so many people who look for me there… And have made so many new friends…

Today is my granddaughters 17 th birthday… Happy Day my dear girl.. we love you very much

You know the drill if you are looking for new or used books go to www.readerwave.ecrater.com or www.readerwave.com

Rambling about Books

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

People read so many different kinds of books.. I carry mostly paperback to the flee market.. I have both kinds paperback and hardcover, new and used on my online store.. I have signed and autographed… (for a long time I did not realize there was a difference.. But there is) signed is just the authors name, autographed is when they write it to you personally.. I have quite a few like that.. Some I have kept over the years.. Others I have offered in my store…

Authors, I never realized till I started collecting books for my online store that there are so many. I have seen all the books in stores but never stopped to think about who or why they were written.. I have over 300 authors in my store… And add more all the time… I have slowed down in the past few months… I need to get going again.. I have taken allot of my collection and put it in my flee market store… I can see I need to make a list of authors on that store.. I think I will do that next week… bring my laptop right out to the garage.. and go from box to box.. Not worry about category just get the authors names in ABC order… The reason being I get asked all the time if I have an author and I have to say I don’t know as lots of times I might only have one and don’t remember.. Then I find it after the person has left. That happens to me every week.. Also I have to see the name written down so I can picture the book in my minds eye.. I don’t spell well so I sometimes can’t get a grip on what the person is asking me for.. This does not make for a great book seller.. But if I had a store I would need sales help and you hire them to off set what you don’t know and they do…

I was in retail for over 18 yrs. I was a good sales person and a great manager of other people.. I did not treat them as if they were under me.. I taught them everything I knew and took what they knew and used it also.. People work for you better in the long run if you do not bully them and treat them as equals… Even tho you are their boss.. They mostly don’t forget that and work harder for you… I have worked with so many different people over the years.. And I have stuffed a lot of knowledge under my hat.. I love to read and love books I just don’t know a lot about all kinds of books… I am a creature of habit so I read the same kinds and don’t venture a way much.. I have been told by book sellers I need to read more of the different kinds.. Well I have my family who reads so many different ones that I don’t need to.. I ask questions and they tell me.. I have a daughter who like biographies, another likes historical, I have a daughter in law who likes romantic suspense, and suspense, granddaughters like the witches and vampires, sister in law who likes Christian, her husband likes westerns(they are hard to come by) and I bring up the rear with the romance and suspense.. I like early America like late 1800 on up I like small town America.. Books can take you so many places.. Pick one up and take the ride.. Right now I am reading about a young woman who has taken over the family ranch, got some young steer to raise and bring to market.. she got them a low price.. Not knowing what kind they were and they grew into huge steer that she could not get down out of her mountains to bring to market and has got the help of some great cowboys and that is where I am at now.. have another 100 pages to go… Just a little Harlequin romance… On my table in the living room next to my chair I have four Christmas Harlequin I picked up… I read about the holidays all year long.. makes me feel great when I have a bad week or miss someone…Don’t get the idea I only read Harlequin small romance books.. I read all kinds.. and lots of different authors..  Next to my bed there was a cloth bag that I keep books in.. Now they are on top of the night stand as the bag is being used to go to the flee market so I am on the lookout for another one… I love bags that tell about where I have been… I have given a couple to my Mother so I don’t have as many as I use to have… I suppose I could use a holiday bag. But not as much fun…But pretty…

If you have read my blogs before you know I ramble.. I write as I talk… I don’t pretend to know how to do this I just say it the way I feel it at the moment.. Thanks for reading and listening to what I have to say. If you have something to ad feel free to do so…

Ramblings of a Crazy Woman

Monday, October 12th, 2009

Google Analytics this fetcher on my computer is a wonder and an enjoyment to me.. When my daughter told me she cold show me who was on my sites I was shocked.. not names of people but what  towns and how they got to my site. There is a wheel that shows if they came direct, like they knew our store address or blog… If they came by way of a search engine.. Like google … Even what countries, states and towns… Like yesterday some one from the southwest looked at a book.  From Powey that is in California I think…

Wish it could tell me what to do to make people look more and then buy.. I love my bookstore and my shot glass store.. It makes me feel bad that I don’t do better at it.. I do better at the flea market… I can’t offer as much there as its to hard to carry everything with me…

We are having a fair in our town in the next few weeks so our flee market is closed down to get ready for it… I think I will go this year to get a better understanding of it… Also there is a book fair at the Library in the next town over this week and I got some really go buys last year so I am going to go get a look at it… I will need to be careful so I think I will take some boxes with me and a dolly… I have a plastic one that I can use put the box on it and go around with it so I don’t have to carry items then I will have boxes in the car that I can switch to it will take longer.  The reason I will have to be careful is I feel yesterday in our grocery store parking lot.. Spent several hours at the hospital getting x rays… I am on some good meds.. as I don’t hurt like I thought I would this morning.. I am going to go off them this morning to see how I feel… So I can get the pain level to tell the doctor when I call for my checkup date…

As you can see I am a rambler.. This is my blog to tell my story… To let my hair down so to speak..So I talk on here as if I were talking to someone here at home… But if you have read my blogs in the past I am the talker of this family..(husband and I)..I love him,our children(his and mine) books and shot glasses… I have two online  stores Readerwave who has moved from 4 years of being on eBay to being on eCRATER.. www.readerwave.com or www.readerwave.ecrater.com  I list most of my books by author… I can place as many books as I want on this site with no charge… for listing or selling.. You say how do they make there money.. from advertising. If I wanted I could place ads and lots of people do.. I don’t… Prices at eBay got to high for the amount that I was selling… I sell a book “Waiting for Agnes”by a local author in our area Joe Bullard..This book has sold real good for me… I have offered it on eBay, Amazon and eCRATER… I have sold over 200 copies and some are more than one to a person.. Make wonderful gifts and its signed.. That is the added feature I can offer that no one else can.. And the fact I am the only one offering NEW signed copies… They make wonderful gifts… If you are a Florida history buff its great… If you want to give a copy to your Library its great… I have sold copies to many countries… I feature some of my favorite authors I am a romance, suspense reader… Some of my favorite authors many of them write stories that are a series about small town USA Debbie Macomber-Cedar Cove (fashioned after her hometown of Port Orchard,Washington..(I have been there its across the bay from Seattle..)great place… This year they held Cedar Cove Days and to hear tell it was great.. I think I can quote someone who went that said there were 40 States and lots of countries represented…   You can read about this author more on her blog  www.debbiemacomber.com  Then there is Robyn Carr and Virgin River fashioned after no particular town but after the northern redwood area of California… you can read about Rybon Carr more at her site www.robyncarr.com  Then there is Diana Palmer and The Long Tall Texans series from Jacobsville, Texas another made up town of small town America. www.dianapalmer.com  Another one which I found by accident two summers ago when I had decided to read books with a series.. and new authors to me… I found JoAnn Mapson who wrote a series about Alaska and a young wheelchair bound girl trying to keep her plant nursery going that was left to her in a will by her aunt… loved it… I have always wanted to visit there and I did thought these stories.. There are so many authors with series that I love. Joan Johnston who writes about early history in America… (settlers) Then there is Jan Karon who writes about Medford  another small town USA… www.jankaron.com   These are just a few… there are so many more.. If you have an author who writes a series you think I should try please let me know.  I have read allot of authors with a series this is just the icing on the cake so to speak… There is Susan Wiggs, Rachel Lee, Janet Evanovich, Sherryl Woods, Luanne Rice, Linda Lael Miller she has a wonderful series that I follow … www.lindalaelmiller.com  also Fern Micheals and the sisterhood , www.fernmicheals.com  then there is Dorothy Garlock who write about the early days in America the 30′s on up…great stories… There are just to many to mention…. www.dorothygarlock.com

I like going to book signings.. In January I heard about one with 12 local authors being there.. I traveled an hour from my home and it was well worth it.. I met some of the nicest woman and I had not read any of  them … I have read almost all the books I bought and had autographed that day.. I sent several to my daughter as she likes to read of vampires and I don’t find that to be my cup of tea…

Ramblings of a Crazy Woman is what I am changing my blog title to instead of Google Analytics as it is at the moment… I am not Crazy as the saying goes just crazy about Romance Novels… and their authors… Thanks for listening to my rambling… as we all hear a voice in our head as we read, I do…

Had a great day yesterday. Met allot of nice people and sold allot of books… Was a very productive day… Learned about a book sale coming up … Boy did my ears perk up… I love to go to book sales.

My online store has not done so well this past week I don’t know what to do to make it any better.. I have not added books for awhile as I have plenty in there… I will be working on cleaning up my book room this week as I don’t have anything to do with my flee market books I did those last week…

Thought I was getting a cold or the flue had a sore throat and felt terrible last night . Went to bed early and I feel fine this morning except for the usual aches and pains from my Arto…That runs in our family… Just keep active and it helps it allot… Pain is part of the getting older in our family… Nothing we can’t deal with… So we are lucky…

Theme

Friday, October 9th, 2009

Tried of old theme… Needed some change… Colorful trees and leaves are what I was looking for .  I did this with out help.. so if anything is not like it should be.. I am not a geek don’t claim to know anything about computers… My daughter who helps me has two teenage daughters one in band.. and a younger son who is a geek… so she is needed at home… I am trying to be not needy..And whine that I need her … Its hard as I was so dependent on her for so long.. Then all of a sudden it clicked.. And I was able to do on my own with the help of my husband once in a while.

Now if I could get people to read you and comment it would be nice..

I have started my holiday gift giving idea’s I have one gift bought .. woman’s grab bag.. for my husbands family… We will get together at my sister-in-laws house and exchange.. We have not made any plans as yet for any holiday coming up.. Will wait and see…

I need to think of Husbands birthday is coming up next month.. I don’t know what to get him..Tools are out he can buy his own better than I can… Clothes he buys when he needs them. I wish there was some kind of workshop that I could send him to for turning wood.. He is getting really good with that.. Or some place to buy wood of different kinds. That would be a cool gift. He would be so surprised…

This is the way my head talks to it self form day to day…

Then of course there is the gift you can give a book… you can find new signed books or used books at my on line store www.readerwave.ecrater.comI will be adding some things for the holidays and will put them under there own category Holidays…

What does WD-40 Have to do With Surgery

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

I had nothing to write about this morning so I played computer games when I woke up at 5am and went back to bed at 6am… I thoughI would have nothing to write about.

Then coming home from the grocery store with my husband. He was talking about how where he had surgery it itched.. the hair is growing back and the tape is wearing off and they both are catching his shorts(under).  Well I suggested that he put cream on it… He said he had did not do much good so then he told me he had even tried mineral oil… with no help…

Then with a straight face he said he wish  he could use WD-40 that would take it off.. But he might to more harm than good.. All this with a straight face… I just looked at him and thought thank you, thank you for my blog today… It tickles me as I write this… You have to know my hubby to know that he hardly ever smiles not that he is a grumpy person he is just a person who does not talk much… If you go back to August on my blog you will see what kind of person his family thinks he is… So this is my blog today. Have a great day and enjoy my point of view….

Virgin River

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

I am devoting this blog today to Virgin River.. A make believe town created by author Robyn Carr.  I just finished reading her 2009 Christmas story…:Under the Christmas Tree… She writes about Strong woman who love Strong Marines.. I would love to live in this town… Small town USA.  This Christmas story is not the first in the series so lets go back and start at the beginning.

1.Virgin River,2. Shelter Mountain,3. Whispering Rock, 4. A Virgin River Christmas, 5. Second Chance Pass, 6. Temptation Ridge, 7. Paradise Valley, 8. Under The Christmas Tree(an anthogy with authors Debbie Macomber and Sherryl Woods “That Holiday Feeling(Just finished reading oh I am so ready for the nest one).

There is a promise of 9 more to come in the next three years.. If you get Robyn Carr’s newsletter you would know this… Jan,Feb, and March of these next three years a new book will come out… Personally I am very happy but then to wait for so long for new books… Oh people of Virgin River be safe and sound while we wait… Sense I am not a writer or publisher my opinion does not count but I would think doing it every three months would be better we could have smaller waits in between.   Then of course Lifetime are you listening… You need to jump on this for a TV series not a movie a series….  And if anyone out there thinks as I do get those emails going to Lifetime..They need to know how we feel.

Robyn Carr you make my heart so full of love I hate to put the book down and wait. Jan is a long time away… I can’t even look forward to a book in my Christmas stocking… (I stop buying books around Oct and give my husband a list of what I want for Christmas…) Try to make his life a little easier.. Some times its very hard…

Find Robyn Carr and her books at www.robyncarr.com

Virgin River travel with me to the Redwoods of Caifornia and we will never want to go home. This is not a real town but it should be….Jacks Bar is a place I would love to hang out and have dinner meet my friends…

Do you have a special place that you have been that makes this place home..

I remember going to a Club in South Florida when I lived there… I must of gone there for at least 6 yrs.. sometimes everynight.. Club Elvis offered linedancing for free I bought my one coke a night and learned to dance for 4 hrs… I left by midnight as I was a single woman with a job…I met lots of nice people there. Some are friends to this day others went their own ways… One of my best friends was my dance teacher and later became my co worker and great friend…

Memerys are great and books can take you anywhere you want and give you great memories.Take a trip to Virgin River in your mind.. You won’t be sorry.

You can find some of these books at my online bookstore www.readerwave.ecrater.com
