Books are my passion, reading, selling, showing. Lately I have been trying to widen my scope on what to read.. I use to read just romance.. I now try to put in some suspense, history, christian. Right now I am reading a Harlequin Christmas story… Seasonal seems to bring my mood up and I read them all year long… When ever I run across one.  I have read some mystery and like them…

I try to have a wide selection of books in my store… Next week I will begin telling you about the different books I have for you to look at…

Reading

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

Good Romance story has made the world go round for years… I have been reading romance novels sense Gram gave me @2.00 a week to spend for my allowance and we had a store at school.. I would go spend some of it on a pocket size romance novel. Then it would take me two days to read..Then I was back to the school library.  I was in middle school at that time.. From then on  I aalways had a book in my hand. A girlfriends gram gave her true story a very smutty mag.. we read them from front to back when I was a in 8th  grade.. The point of my blog is to tell you read anything just read… But understand and don’t skip over the hard words or make your own words.. Make sure you are reading what it really says and means… You can do this even with Romance…..When my children were little we had a lady who lived across the street from us who got her Harlequinin the mail every month.. she was nice enough to pass them around to several of us to read. I would read mag from front to back…To this day I read one or two books a week depending on how busy I am. I just bought 4 books from  Wal Mart as we don’t have a book store in our town… But even in our town you can find a book at the nearest Publix Grocery Store, WalMart, then used one you can find at the library sale, yard sales, flee market… There is a always a way.. Just read

I have loved reading so much that in 2004 I started an on line bookstore www.readerwave.ecrater.com  back then it was on eBay but got to expensive now I can offer low affordable prices and still make a profit… come see my store

People get on Twitter to pass the time, information, gossip, religion, hook you up with there business..

Why do you go on Twitter?

I go to talk to my family weather person.. To talk to some of the Authors I find on there..To fellow bookseller who sell on www.ecrater.com   You will find I have two stores on ecrater… www.readerwave.ecrater.com  and www.shotglassheaven.com

One thing I will be looking for is someone who can advise me on photographs of shot glasses.. They are hard to take especially the clear ones with a little writing.  Some of mine at www.shotglassheaven.com  are really bad…

Now books I can do pretty good… And I have been selling more and more lately.. Thanks to everyone what ever way you find me… Let me know what you are looking for…I list more by author than I do my say romance, mystery, which is a better way if you were buying?

Camera,book,shot glass, Oyster

Friday, August 7th, 2009

My Camera’s  For so long I only had one now I have two and they both work.. One is big and one is paper thin… Which one to use… I needed a camera to take close ups of small objects like my shot glasses, or bigger ones like my books… I am not a photo person who knows what they are doing and has studied… I study my items… take several pictures sometimes till I think its right… I have a folder for every category that I have in my book store. and a few extra like one says stuff, another says book signing and date… That’s allot of folders to have over 120.. recently they went to regular size to thumbnail.. I don’t know how that happened if I hit something or it decided to do it on its own and make more room… I am sure I have lots more authors to enter. Having trouble with taking pictures of shot glasses… the clear ones with words or pictures don’t show up very well. I have many siting on my desk right now and they make me sad… I need to get there pictures taken and put on my store  www.shotglassheaven.ecrater.com  I have many kinds and boxes and boxes of more to put in but must sell off some I have already… to make room. So we’re back to which camera should I use.. I guess I have to try both.. I started taking pictures of books yesterday and the batteries went dead… go figure.. I get in the mood and get stopped… well they are charged so will go get  and try to get some work done before lunch … Its Friday we eat lunch will family when we can  in winter.. summer some go away so we don’t get together as much. Looking forward we are going to the Oyster House… Love Oysters…and they are fresh daily.. sense the place is on waters edge.

Can You Find Me, Amazon,eBay,eCRATER?

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

What to write.. Has been kinda easy all week… Only thing that has been.. I have been in a funk all week.. I don’t know what it is for sure… Could be missing grandchildren and their parents. Could be I am ready for a change in senery and can’t do it… Sales on store are ok… sold 6 books to 3 customers… so really only three sales….. And one after being a ok payment and sent to customer.. comes back as a hold… Now what online seller does not send their items as soon as the money is there… I am noted for next day service… Just another thing to worry about … Have never had this happen before…. I have had people who order and never pay… but never after 4 days the bank puts a hold on the money I alreay have and spent.. so to speak… If customer does not pay they have my book and I owe the author… As its one of my new autographed books.  I have been going to enter books and shot glasses all week and they just sit on my desk…

I have been doing a lot of thinking of the real book store I would love to have… Its a pipe dream…. Bookstores in our town don’t last… To many people here work in other bigger towns I am sure they go there for their books… That and Wal-Mart … I find pleantyof used… And I have done some good business at flee market as I am lower than the bookstore that is always there… But that is taking business away from someone else… and I know what that is like.. As my husband and family say its a good thing that I don’t have to make a living at this.   I have done real well selling one book over the time when the times have been hard… “Waiting for Agnes” by Joe Bullard great little book and its autographed… I am selling it in three locations on the Internet… Amazon, eBay and eCRATER.   Amazon and eBay I only sell one book.. My bookstore is on eCRATER at www.readerwave.ecrater.com  I have many kinds of books and lots of authors.. over 1200 books and 120 authors, then I have books in categories if I don’t have many of their books.. so if you don’t find under authors name look under romance, fantasy, adventure, religion etc, audio, large print… I also have other things like cups, Cd’s talking books, movies, Leap-Pad items.. I even have some that are just book or cartridge they are not listed.. But if you have something you need email me and I will look … readerwave@bellsouth.net  If I don’t have will look for it other places.. I had a email yesterday.. I looked on eBay for book and found it and told customer and they could order themselves cheaper than if I ordered it and had it sent to them…  used books sell from .55 to 2.00 depends on side and shape.. Harlequin sell for .55 or a little less..  Check it out you will be very happy to find the book you are looking for… Once in a while I feature other stores on my blog as well…. There is a store in Anchorage, Alaska that sells books on Alaska… There is another lady who I found who sells neat candles… You can find anything if you look…  If you have a favorite author and see that they are going to visit  the North Florida area let me know I love to meet all the different authors… I have gotten so really good reading and meant 12 new authors to me last month… As you might of seen over the last 8 months that I have had this blog I have a favorite author Debbie Macomber… Now if one of you is going to Cedar Cove Days.. email me some pictures… would love to go.. I was there to see Debbie about 8 yrs ago… what a nice little town…

New Autograhed Books

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

Our bookstore offers many kinds of books Today we will show you the ones new with autographs

Waiting for Agnes by Joe Bullard Inspired by the true story of Coral Castle

Coral Castle sits on Key West Highway in Homestead,Florida.  It was built by a Latvian immigrant named Ed Leedskalnin.  Claiming he fashioned his tools from Mr. Kilgore’s junkyard, Edd cut and moved over 1100 tons of massive, jagged coral stone.  When asked how he did this, Ed said,”I know the secret of the Great Pyramid.”

This book is about why Ed left his home in Latvia, moved to Florida, and built Coral Castle at the edge of the Everglades.  It also explores a theory of how Ed might’ve cut and moved stones weighing more than those of the Great Pyramid.  The true secret of this lost science can never be known, it went into the grave with Ed when he died in 1951.

My Favorite Author, Who’s Yours?

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

After reading her blog I decided to tell you a little about my favorite author, Debbie Macomber. I have met her three times.. Each time was better than the last. First time was eight years ago. In her hometown of Port Orchard,WA Now I live in Florida, quite a distance to go for just a signing you say..Well I had 4 other great reasons to go.. My daughter and three of my grandchildren lived in Bellview at the time..  We rode the ferry over and took a tour of the town what a wonderful time we had. If I ever get to go again I am going to look for the house on one of her Cedar Cove books as its Debbie’s house.

I have read all her books so far. I started out on the first Cedar Cove book and when from there. I have many of her books in my used book store www.readerwave.ecrater.com  and she was kind enough to send me bookmarks to put with my books when I ship them out.

I want to tell you about some of her books.

16 Lighthouse Road  1st book in her Cedar Cove Series and hardest to find  When Ceilia Randall   naval officer husband Ian, appear in Judge Olivia Lockhart’s Cedar Cove family court, they expect the good judge to grant the divorce they seek.  But Olivia senses the couple still love one another and just need time to work on their marriage in the wake of their infant daughter’s death.  So Olivia denies their petition and makes headlines in the Cedar Cove Chronicle earning the divorced mother more than journalistic admiration form the paper’s editor, Jack Griffin.  Meanwhile, Olivia’s daughter Justine, must decide if she will marry an older man her mother insists is wrong for her, and Olivia’s best friend, Grace Sherman, the local libraian,is frantic with the disappearance of her husband Dan.  Everyone in Cedar Cove is talking.

204 Rosewood Lane 2ndbook  Six months after her husband of 35 years,Dan disappeared, Grace Sherman is confident he’s run off with another woman so, against her daughter,Kelly’s wishes she files for divorce.  Meanwhile, Judge Olivia has love problems of her own.  Her ex-husband wants her back, giving her on-again, off-again suitor, Jack Griffin, some stiff competition.  Jack has other problems.  His son Eric, comes home to bunk with dad, on the outs, with his girlfriend, Shelly, who thinks she’s pregnant Olivia’s daughter, Justine, wises up and marries her high school sweetheart, but Zach and Rosie Cox find their marriage on the  skids.  Rosie’s volunteer work takes precedence over her family responsibilties.  Maryellen Sherman, Grace’s oldest daughter and manager of the local art gallery, becomes pregnant after a brief affair with artist Jon Bowman.  Romance, babies divorce and marriage keep Cedar Cove gossips buzzing.

311 Pelican Court  3rd  book  Now divorced, Zach and Rose Cox are struggling to adjust to Judge Olivia’s unusual custody agreement-and to the fact they’re thrown together more than they would have wished.  The kids are staying in the family home, and its’s Rosie and Zach who have to do the coming andgoing.  Having discovered the tragic fate of her husband, Grace tries to adjust to single living and to the attentions of another man.

But the really big gossip comes when a guest dies at Bob and Peggy Beldon’s Thyme and Tide Bed and Breakfast, Roy McAfee, the local private investigator, wants to know who the guy was, and why he showed up there,of all places, in the middle of the night.

44 Cranberry Point 4th book Judge Olivia andher husband Jack, are back form their homemoon to find her mother,Charlette who’s at least seventy-five, has a man in her life.  But the big buzz is about the man who died in the Beldon’s bed and breakfast.  Turns out, his name ws Max Russell, and Bob knew him briefly in Vietnam.  But who poisoned him and why?

In happier news, Jon Bowman and Mary ellen Sherman have seen the light-they’re getting married.  Maryellen’s mom, Grace, has more than her share of interested men, but which one will she choose?  All grist for the gossip mill in Cedar Cove, the town you’d love to call home.

50 Harbor Drive 5th book Roy McAfee, Cedar Cove’s resident priate investigator, and his wife, Corrie, have been receiving annonymous postcards and messages, asking if they regret the past, and what they mean is a mystery to them!  On a more positive note, Roy and Corrie are delighted that their daughter, Linette has moved back to Cedar Cove to work at the new medical clinic.  Linette isn’t too enthusiastic  her mom has set her up with Cal Washburn, who works at Cliff Harding’s horse farm.  Corrie bought Linette a date with Cal at the humane society’s “Dog and Bachelor Aution” The romance between Cliff and Grace Sherman is back but that’s just one of the many interesting stories you’ll read about in 50 Habor Street

6 Rainier Drive  6th book   After losing The Lighthouse restaurant to arson, Justine and Seth Gunderson’s marriage is rocky.  The prime suspect, Anson Butler, is a young ex-employee who disappeared right after the fire.  But when a cross necklce shows up in the ashes of the restaurant authorities wonder if someone else set the fire.  Seth assumes they will rebuild, but Justine likes not having to worry about the restaurant.  It’s as if they don’t know each other anymore.  But could something unexpected rekindle their love, say in nine months?  Still, there’s good news in Cedar Cove.  Cal, who works on Cliff  Harding’s ranch, is rescuing wild mustangs from Wyoming but might find he’s better suited for other adventures.  And a Victorian Tea Room and Gift Shop could be in the works.  In the meantime life goes on, with marriages, births, reunions…and even the occasional scandal.

74 Seaside Ave  7th book   I’m living a life I could’t even have dreamed of a few years ago.  I’m married to Bobby Polgar now(you know the famous chess champion who just happens to be the man I love!)  And we’ve got this beauiful house with a view of Puget Sound.

Lately something’s been worrying Bobby, though.  When I asked, he said he was protecting his queen”- and I got the oddest feeling he wasn’t talking about chess but about me.  He wouldn’t say anything else.

Do you remember Get Nailed, the beauty salon in Cedar Cove”  I still work there.  I’ll tell you about my friend Rachel who’s got two men interested in her (count’em, two).  And I’ll let you in on what I’ve heard about Linnette McAfee who left town when her love life fell apart(That kind of trouble I know all about)  Come in soon for a manicure and a chat okay?

8 Sandpiper Way 8th book  Emily Flemming can think of only two explanations-an affair or sticky fingers_ but neither sounds like the husband she knows and loves.  Still, Pastor Dave did regularly visit the elderly woman whose jewlry has been turning up missing, and he does refuse to tell Emily where he’s been when he comes home so late.  He may be a good man, but  he sure looks guilty-even to his wife

Meanwhile Sheriff Troy Davis’s long-ago love has moved to town, and there’s news aplenty from newcomers and old-timers alike in Cedar Cove

On Sale August 2009

92 Pacific Boulevard  I’m not much of a letter wirtier.. As the sheriff here, I’m used to writing incident reports, not catty letters.  But my duaghter, Megan0 who’ll be making me a grandfather soon-told me I had to do this.. So here goes.

I’ll tell you straight out that I’d hoped to marry Faith Beckwith(my onetime high school girlfriend) but she ended the relationship last month, even though we’ve both widowed and available.  There were a few misunderstandings between us, some of them inaffvertently caused by Megan.

However, I’ve got plenty to keep me occupied, like the unidentified remains found in a cave outside town.  And the fact that my friend Judge Olivia Griffin is fighting cancer.  And the break-in at 204 Rosewood Lane-the house Faith happens to be renting from Grace Harding… If you want to hear more, come on over to my place or to the sheriff’s office-if you can stand the stale coffee.

Book 10  comes out September 2010 God willing…..

Two other books in series and around the series

5-B Poppy Lane Novella in Hearts Divided Anthology

Grandmothers know best-especially these three grandmothers, all soldier’ briders

Wonderful Man

Here is the after pictures  Had this matted and framed for our Anniverary… Today Sept 21st

Fathers are precious people..They try to act manly and unaffected by anything we might do.. Some stay this way and some get with our(woman)program..

One father I am talking about came with three grown children… They are his pride and joy. I was introduced to each one and I am sure they had there mixed feeling… I was so much younger than there father and mother. But they let me in and made me welcome because I was marrying there father and they loved him dearly.. That does not mean that it didn’t take us a while to love each other.. Like was first then it was love.. And they allowed two other children to come into his life(my grown children) who needed a father figure in there lives…Back to this husband and father, we were married very fast.  We grew to know each other over time. We loved each other from the start..I need someone in my life who was kind and respectful of my feeling..Someone  to walk with me not over me. To guide me to his way of thinking but not over power me with his views.. He is not a big talker and I was.. This was hard to understand.. I kept trying to fill the conversation as we sat next to each other and it was very frustrating.. Over time I learned I did not have to talk to make him happy.. Just yesterday we were talking about a phone conversation and he told me .. You know you don’t have to fill all my moments with sound.. I just have to know you are beside me. Now this told me so much about this man.. I have known this for a very long time.. Hearing him say it was just the icing on top of the cake.. We are together for life.. He has made me the better person I hope I am today.. And I hope I have been there the way I should be though all his sickness and his silences in the chair next to me…We don’t travel like we had said we would when we retired because of his health and my mother lives with us… I hope our children understand and keep coming to see us and don’t let children’s busy lives keep them away. God thank you for bringing this wonderful Man,Husband and Father into our lives.

He asked that I not put his face in anymore...so here is Butterfly

Autographed by Merrillee Whren Four Little Blessings

I am so confused as to what i did right several days ago.. I had lots of people reading my blog and several bought in my store… What do I do to keep this going?  Do I pray to God, do I leave him alone on such a small thing. Do I pester people to read… Do I tell them I wish they would write and answer to my blog… Buy in my stores… www.readerwave.ecrater.com  www.shotglassheaven.ecrater.com

Do I tell them over and over what good buys I have and the items are new and used autographed and not… I have over 120 authors listed and many more to go.  I have over 25 kinds of shot glasses and many more to put in.. I am running out of room to store them on the shelves.. I used to have 5 floor to ceiling shelves in our condo now I have one in our office book store room… and its almost full.

I tell you if you have questions please ask… I don’t ask for feedback when You buy something but I would hope that you give it like I give to you when you buy..

I hope you have a good day and help me with my confusion..
