Saying Good By

Today was the last day of The Book Store we took the shelves, lights etc down today. The books came home yesterday. We have 3500 books and 6 book shelves in our garage. As well as my office chair. We brought 4 book cases into the house to house the eBay store .  I have over 300 books on line at ewest13 Its not a store.  Been out of business 4 hrs and I miss it already.. I went around the flea market this morning saying good-by and several people came and looked me up to say good-by. And you know I had to buy some books.. LOL.

Wanted to show you how it looked this morning but that picture did not come out so will show you us saying good-by to my chair.

Today Then Tomorrow

Today we mailed books that I sold on eBay. Tomorrow we go to the Flea Market and finish taking down our store. I always say my store.. It is also my hubbys has he does all the labor made all 20 of my bookcases.  We have sold most of them. Will be taking them apart tomorrow I hope.  I hope the new truck does not get scratches on the sides of the bed.

Put an ad in the local paper to sell 3500 books . Some one called but they only wanted certain kinds. Not possible selling as a lump sum.

I have been chosen as one of Debbie Macomber’s Angels.. not so sure what this means but it sounds good. Will let you know when I do.. I know I might get an early read of “The Inn at Rose Harbor” Her new book to come out in August. Will keep you up dated.

Today is New
May 14th, 2012

Today is the beginning, a new step I am taking to find me. I closed The Book Store yesterday. I will miss it and all the wonderful people I came in contact with. That is the part of the store I loved the most. This is not the last you will see of me. Something new will come up and out I will come again. I always do. I have been in some kind of sales all my life. From when I used to sell my toys at a table in the front of my house. Then when I was at Burger King across town. Went there as I knew the people already. Spent 18 yrs with Byrons/Uptons,before changing direction.

We are taking some time off then I will be back even if its only from my garage.

Last Week to Write About The Book Store

We are closing The Book Store (Facebook written The Bookstore). Will miss it terribly. Could not keep it open. Our Books are going to be .25 cents each even front table.  We will be open Friday 9 am to 2pm  Saturday and Sunday  7:30 am to 3pm. We even have book cases for sale..

We had a great weekend at 50% let’s have a better one this weekend.

First Day Of The End

As we know it at The Bookstore.  You can follow us on Facebook. Today we go and try to take stock of what we have to sell what we want to bring home. I am not selling my chairs or stool. Everything is half off. I am taking down my signs and wind chimes today. Some of my bookcases are for sale. My hubby did a wonderful job of building them and I hate to lose them. I even cried this morning over my store. I just don’t want to give it up. But you have to know when to say when its enough. All the money I earn in the next two weeks will go toward the rent. And anything left will be put in the band for the next adventure I take.  Who knows if it will be another bookstore or something else. I will not curl up in my corner and do nothing I promise.

What To Do

can you find the rabbit it was a rainy day

Help, I have entered over 100 books on eBay. I think that is plenty to get a start. I will be going away when they are ready to be relisted so I think I will stop here. Now what to do. I am reading a great book By Susan Mallory about her town of Fools Gold. I am tired of playing Frontierville on Facebook for the moment . So what is next.. Oh I know Trip to doctors for hubby to have his blood pressure checked.(when they called yesterday for the reminder I told the young man I would make sure it was up so it was worth the trip).He laughed. Then its lunch time. Oh and Wal-Mart I need new poster board to make signs for this weekend. I have spread the word near and far I hope you will do the same.. I will have the entire store Half off for the next two weekends.. I even emailed my friend who is a school teacher.  Oh this includes the shot glasses that are up around the bookcases.. Even some of the book cases are on

sale ..$50.00 each I think my husband said by rounding it off the next dollar he make $2.00 proffit for his work..   He has been moving furniture around in our spare bedrooms to make room for a few of them in the house.

We went for a bike ride in our little area this morning.. My knee was stiff when I first started out.. by the time I got home my knee was better and my foot was tired from being in new shoes.. Did not hurt was just tired on the bottom of the foot.. So maybe tomorrow before I go to the Flea Market armed with some books from here to sell and my 10 strawberry boxes for the books I want to bring home to put on eBay this summer after our trip.

The Bookstore Closing
May 2nd, 2012

Ya we are the end of this month.  I am having a big book sale at the store the next 3 weekends.  Come to the Flea Market for books half off the price marked.. Remember paperbacks start at $1.00 so that makes them .50  Hard covers are 1.25 and up that makes them start at .75  Check it out.

You will find me trying out my new adventure on eBay. Yes I am going back to it so those of you that use to find me as readerwave can now find me as ewest13 come check it out prices are still good and I have 2626 feed back over the years so must be doing something right. Will miss all my friends and customers at the Flea Market but I won’t say I will never be back.. I have always heard  Never say Never.

Hubby is moving furnture around in our office and spare rooms to make room for bookcases we are bringing home … Some of them we will sell.. Looking for a great bookcase $50.00

Confused Going Day by Day
April 30th, 2012

Last week I was hoping to move to a new location and open a book store on the main highway. Plans fell though. Then this weekend really decided for me that the book business even inside the Flea Market is not going to work for me.  I guess I will give it up for a while. I will never be over selling books I enjoy it too much.  I will take it slow for a while till after I come back from seeing my two granddaughters graduate from High School next month. Had plans to have someone work my store but for now unless something major happens she is off the hook so to speak. Which is good for her as she is not feeling well.

So if you have credits at my store please come in and collect or take the chance that I come back to the Flea Market in the Fall either inside or out. I will miss all my customers and friends…

Anyone got a business on the main highways and has a spare room big enough for my store and wants to rent it give me a call.

Have a good week… I have put a few books on eBay just to see how it goes. I did not open a store.

I got a call from the Pet Store to let me know my puppy is ready for buying .. Oh I had called them a month ago to tell them I could not take it. I feel so bad.. But he is just to expensive. So BB MA will be in my heart and I will think of you often.

Books Books and More Books

Tuesday is a wonderful day. There was a box of books that I had ordered outside my door this morning when my husband got up. It must have come yesterday and we did not see it. We had gone to look at other books at a sale.  So I have Books and more Books this morning.  Now alas I need are customers to sell them too.  I know this to sell pass. As my husband said to me yesterday. I have had down times before they will get better.

Today will be spent reading the two books I have going. I have been reading them for two weeks.. I keep getting stopped. Oh and laundry must do this weeks so we have clothes to wear next week… We stopped at a friend’s house yesterday afternoon. They have done such a great job of fixing up their new house. Love it… Even built an outhouse over the well. So cute. Saw blue Birds and red Birds.

This Week in Books

Good Morning, We had some rain this past weekend. We needed the rain for the grass and plants. But it sure messed up the Flea Market business.  I hope it’s better next weekend.  I found out I know an author at the Flea Market. We got to talking about finding a book and he told me it was his book and its out of print.  (Undaunted Spirit by Budd Mack) I found one on eBay. If someone finds one in there used bookstores give me a yell.  I would love to find several. You might have it in your personal library’s and not remember so give it a look.

This morning we are going to go to Gainesville for a library sale. I have never been so this should be fun.  I printed out all the info on it as there are lots of instructions.  We have to bring our own boxes, can’t stack in piles, should be interesting.. I usually use strawberry boxes for my paperbacks but being in the pictures I saw they had the boxes with closed tops I got some of my other boxes that I use for hard covers and have to put my name on two sides of the boxes so I made stickers and they are already to be loaded in the car.The sale is from noon to 7 today.  Maybe we will go late enough to get to eat at Carabba’s… That would be nice.

Joe Bullard the author of Waiting for Agnes is coming to town this week and we are going to meet up. Have not seen him in a very long time.. As you might remember I use to sell his book for him.

I am still reading the same two books I was reading last week. One is a trilogy by Laura Moore Trouble Me, the other one is by many authors Seal of my Dreams. The moneys go to military families this is why I bought it. And it’s very good. Then when I finish those to  I am going to read The Foxhole by Edward J. McCarthy. Not the type of book I would pick for myself to read. But its by a local author who signed the copy and gave it to me.. I will tell you how I like it.. Next month there are a few new books coming out that I am waiting for will tell you more about them as the time grows near. Oh before I forget I have found an old friend on eBay has her own bookstore check it out.  Read-A-Lot-Book-Shop  She use to own the Second Edition bookstore in Hollywood,Florida where I use to live. The bookstore is still in business under a new owner and you can find it on Facebook along with our store.
